MEET THE DOCTORS OF BOSTON BAY FAMILY HEALTH PRACTICE
DR KRIS BASCOMB
Dr. Angela “Kris” Bascomb is a highly respected Rural Generalist Obstetrician and General Practitioner based in Port Lincoln, South Australia. She has proudly served the Eyre Peninsula for over 17 years and is the founder and principal of Boston Bay Family Health Practice, established in 2009.
Dr. Bascomb’s clinical expertise spans general practice, obstetrics, anaesthetics, emergency medicine, and rural surgery. She has delivered over 3,000 babies since opening her practice and remains deeply committed to providing compassionate, community-focused care to families across the region.
Her journey into medicine began as a mature-aged student at 32, when she returned to high school with her husband and three young children supporting her dream. In just 10 years, she completed her medical degree, trained in obstetrics and anaesthetics, and finalised her specialist training — all while raising her family. Her resilience, passion, and love for rural communities have shaped her into the dedicated clinician she is today.
Alongside her role at Boston Bay Family Health, Kris also serves as Director of Clinical Services for the Eyre Far North Local Health Network and as a Clinical Advisor in Obstetrics for the Rural Generalist Program South Australia, mentoring future rural doctors.
When she’s not caring for patients or supporting young GPs, Kris treasures spending time with her grandchildren — Duke, Jax, Bonnie, Katalina, Vinny, Brody, Nate, and Ivy — often making the most of family time in the backyard pool. She’s also passionate about developing her natural baby skincare range, Alchemellia, and loves catching live concerts and theatre performances whenever she can.
Favourite food: Chocolate (what!! It's a vegetable!!) — proudly serving as the chief chocolate taste tester for her family’s gourmet chocolate business, Gourmet Box, a role she takes very seriously!
What I love about rural medicine:
“No two days are ever the same — I love the variety, the continuity, and the privilege of caring for families through every stage of life.”
Dr. Kris’s warmth, experience, and genuine passion for rural healthcare make her a cornerstone of medical care on the Eyre Peninsula.

Dr. Janssen Ang
Dr. Janssen Ang is a highly respected Rural Generalist Anaesthetist (RGA) at Boston Bay Family Health Practice in Port Lincoln, South Australia. Since joining the clinic in March 2015, he has become an integral part of the local medical community, providing comprehensive care both in the community general practice as well as hospital setting. His areas of special interest includes anaesthesia, general medicine and skin cancer medicine.
Dr. Ang obtained his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Adelaide in 2005. Dr. Nnadozie Awujo
We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Nnadozie Awujo to our Boston Bay Family in July 2020. Dr. Nnadozie completed his GP training in Ceduna before joining our team, and we are delighted he chose to make Port Lincoln his home.
He brings a wide range of skills to our clinic, with special interests in emergency medicine, skin cancer management, and mental health. In addition, Dr. Nnadozie has completed anaesthetics training and is an active part of the town's anaesthetics on-call and theatre roster. This allows him to enjoy a broad and dynamic clinical practice throughout the week.
Dr. Nnadozie is passionate about rural medicine, appreciating the diversity it offers. "I enjoy rural medicine because of the mix of clinical practice," he says. "Every day brings something different, yet there's often an element of continuity of care, which I find incredibly rewarding."
When he’s not at work — which isn’t often — you’ll find Dr. Nnadozie practicing his martial arts skills or sharing a good joke!

Dr Tim Faulkner
I joined the Boston Bay team at the beginning of 2024, returning to a community I first came to know while training here as a junior doctor in 2021. Since then, I have specialised in anaesthesia and emergency medicine, and I continue to work regularly across these fields at Port Lincoln Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care, and I particularly value the opportunity to listen to the stories and experiences of the individuals and families I meet through my work.
Helping patients better understand their health and empowering them to make informed decisions is a vital and rewarding part of my practice. I also have a strong commitment to the education and mentorship of future healthcare professionals, and I find great satisfaction in teaching junior doctors and medical students.
Outside of my clinical work, I am an avid runner and love participating in Parkrun events and local running clubs across Port Lincoln — no matter the hour or the weather! Running not only keeps me active but also connects me with the broader community I am proud to serve.
