We are trialing a return to bulk billing medical clinic.

Recognising a increase in rebates to medical clinics in our region we have adopted a 6 month trial in bulk billing for all general medical appointments. There will be instances where an out of pocket expense occurs - we will ensure we give financial warning where possible. As a general rule, any time you require a nurse or treatment room service there can be an expected out of pocket fee - we cannot bulk bill services for nurses as the government doesnt recognise items numbers for these valuable services, there for the cost of employment and services remains solely with our practice as a private business. The gap or charge contributes to nursing time, equipment, and consumables used.

The following services have expected GAP payments (the upfont cost may be higher but the rebate with be deposited directly to you by medicare, usually within 24 hours of payment).

Excisions & Wound Care

  • Punch Biopsy $125-145

  • Small Excision $160-$190

  • Large Excisions $200- $250

  • Wound Management - $50 per visit.

Nurse Fees - Full Cost / Rebate / Gap

  • Cervical Smear Test / $55 / No Rebate / $55

Nurse led womens health checks are billed equally or lesser value than a standard GP consult gap, however at this stage, Medicare does not offer a rebate to their consults.

Nurse Practitioner (Holly)

  • Short (0-5mins) $50

  • Standard (6-19mins) $60

  • Long (20-39mins) $70

  • Prolonged(40-59 mins) $80

  • 60+ mins $100

Holly can do almost anything a GP can do - and where her skills finally end, a GP is always available to back her up - in this case your appointment with the GP fee will be bulk billed but your fee for Holly will see be due.

Procedure Fees -

  • ECG - $50

  • Spirometry - $60

  • Cryotherapy /Wart Treatment - $50

  • Flu Vaccine - $29.50

  • Boostrix Vaccine - $49.50

  • Dressing Fee / Small $33 / Large $50+

  • Additional Take Home Dressings / $15 - $30

    All procedures incur a fee based on the treatment time, equipment and assistant nurse.
