As you may have read on our about us page, We are a small family owned and operated clinic - we opened in 2009 and in 10 short years have grown from 1 GP & 1 reception to now having 5 doctors, 5 nurses, 4 administration, med students and Interns.

Dr Kris Bascomb, our principal GP, also has skills in obstetrics and Anaesthetics, & Dr Janssen Ang also has skills in anaesthetic. Dr Bascomb & Dr Ang are our permanent GP’s, both having a passion for life style. rural medicine and teaching. We usually have anywhere from 2-4 GP registrars training with us, as well and medical students & Interns rotating throughout the clinic. Having a strong commitment to training and supporting junior doctors, & hoping to impart a passion for rural medicine!!

In 2017 & 2018 we extended our building and added 8 more consulting rooms, purpose built waiting room and a kitchen & boardroom. Allowing us the freedom to increase our teaching capacity and also recruit much needed GP services for our region. We now have a total 12 consulting rooms and 2 treatment rooms.

We are a very flexible clinic, we allow all GP’s to set their own hours depending on their work/life balance preference. Our doctors work autonomously, but are very supported and have we ensure that there is a team focus in our workplace.

Our clinic takes care of 150 obstetric patients per year on average, which is approximately 50% of the town deliveries. Due to one of our GP’s offering an obstetric service, we have developed a unique patient demographic which see's us with a high number of young families and paediatrics presenting for medcal care. Over the past 10 years, we have a slowly developed a generous, and rapidly growing, share of all general medical health presentations, including aged care, chronic health, mental health and more, whilst having the facilites to offer all general medical services and minor procedures.

We also have invested in a number of medical grade lasers, which allows us to offer aesthetic services, and will focus on developing this further in 2019 and 2020 with GPs who have an interest in cosmetic and aesthetic medicine.

We work in close collaboration with the Port Lincoln Hospital and Health Services. Offering obstetrics, anesthetics & emergency cover on a rotation based roster.

Our anaesthetists work on a theatre roster that offers approximately 30 anaesthetic lists per month, which is shared evenly between 4 FTE GP Anaethetists. The theatre lists range from optometry, urology, ENT, orthopaedics, dental, gynecology, general medicine, colonoscopies and more. The GP Anaesthetists also cover the on call roster with 7 day rotations for emergency anaesthetic requirements.

The Port Lincoln Hospital ED On call requirements have recently improved, making it far less onerous and disruptive to work life balance. ED is staffed collaboratively by all of the GPs of Port Lincoln from ,monday - friday, and 1 weekend in 4, the remaining weekends are staffed by locums. Our clinic's requirement is only to cover the two Monday shifts (2 x 12hours) each week, excepting public holidays. These shifts are shared between the GPs in our clinic evenly. This can be increased, or decreased, depending on each GPs preference to participate in the roster.

Obstetric services in Port Lincoln is currenly not unlike a Private medical service, where patients choose their GP Obstetrician, and that GP will be on call 24/7 for that delivery. However, in addition to this, there is also a hospital obstetric on call service that covers any emergency obstetric requirements, such as assisting with deliveries, and “out of town” presentations.

Port Lincoln is the perfect juncture of rural and coastal living, We have a population of 17500 people and a catchment of a further 5000 in surrounding townships. there are 5 fantastic schools, 3 public & 2 private, plus a number of days care and pre-school facilities. We have many vast range of extracurricular activities including many national parks and beaches to visit within a mere 10-15km of town.

Our clinic is situated just 500 m from the beach front and CBD of port Lincoln.

Depending on the candidate we would offer anywhere up to 65% in hours and 80% after hours (with 100% of on call retainer payments)

We would expect GPs to be fully booked by the end of their starting month (if not sooner).
